When a phrase includes a month and a year don't separate the year with commas, but when the phrase includes a month, a day and a year set off the year with commas.
Use an 's' without an apostrophe to indicate spans of decades or centuries.
Ex. 1990s
Years are the only exception to the rule that numerals aren't used to start a sentence.
