Mech: binds ergosterol → leaky membr pores
Use: systemic mycoses; intrathecally for fungal meningitis (doesn't cross BBB)
Tox: fever/chills, hypoTN, nephrotox (↓ w/ hydration), arrhythmias, anemia, IV phlebitis
Note: liposomal amphotericin reduces tox
