Core: colonial nations

Semi-Periphery: industrialized, but without the power and authority of a Core nation

(i.e.: Spain, Mexico, Eastern Europe, Russia, and Brazil) 

Periphery: less industrial, provide raw materials, agricultural goods and human labor

(i.e.: most of non-urban Africa and Asia)
