Definition

Beta - 14 - 30 Hz. Seen in mental activity and sensory stimulation.

 

Alpha - 8 - 13 Hz. Seen when resting eyes or brain is not engaged in activity. Not present in deep sleep.

 

Theta - 4 - 7 Hz. Normal in children & sleeping adults. In awake adults, suggest emotional stress.
