Indication: urinary urge incontinence

Dose: 7.5 - 15mg once daily

Side effects

Dry mouth, constipation, nausea, vomitting, dyspepsia, blurred vision, mydriasis, dry eyes, urinary retention, tachycardia, arythmia, dizziness, drowsiness, headache, hallucinations, confusion 

Counselling

Swallow tablets whole, do not crush or chew

This medicine may cause drowsiness, blurred vision, or dizziness. If thus affected, do not drive/operate machinary

Generic: oxybutynin

Class: anticholinergic

Indication: urinary urge incontinence

Dose: 2.5-5mg bd or tds, max 20mg daily

Counselling

Generic: finasteride

Class: 5-alpha reductase inhibitor

Indication: BPH, androgenic alopecia

Dose: 5mg daily

Side effects: impotence, decreased libido, decreased ejaculatory volume

Generic: vardenafil

Class: 5-phosodiesterase inhibitors

Indication: erectile dysfunction

Dose: 5 - 20mg taken 30-60 minutes before activity

Side effects:

common: headache, dizziness, flushing, dyspepsia, nasal congestion

rare: priapism

Counselling:

You can take with or without food.  If you take with a fatty meal, it will take longer to work

Contraindicated within 24 hours of nitrates

Tell your dr if you have any sudden visual/hearing changes

This medicine may cause visual disturbances/dizzines.  Do not operate machinary/drive if thus affected

Generic: sildenafil

Class: 5 phosphdiesterase inhibitor

Indication: erectile dysfunction, pulmonary hypertension

Dose: 50 - 100mg, taken about 1 hour before activity

Side effects:

abnormal vision, headache, flushing, dizziness, nasal congestion, dyspepsia

Counselling:

You may take this with or without food.  If you take it with a fatty meal it may take longer to work.

Contraindicated with concommitent nitrate use

May cause dizziness/abnormal vision.  Do not drive if thus affected.

Tell your dr immediately if you have any sudden visual/hearing loss.

Generic: tadalafil

Class: 5-phosphodiesterase inhibitor

Indication: erectile dysfunction

Dose: 5mg daily or 10-20mg taken 30minutes before activity

Side effects

Common: headache, dizziness, flushing, dyspepsia, nasal congestion

Counselling

Tell your dr if you have any sudden loss of hearing/vision.

This medicine may make you dizzy/have visual disturbances.  Do not drive if thus affected

Concommitent nitrate use is contraindicated
