Term

How many sources of IPAS air?

What are they?

Definition

How many sources of IPAS air? THREE

What are they? APU AND BOTH ENGINES

Term
What is the hierarchy of supplying IPAS air?
Definition
What is the hierarchy of supplying IPAS air? The APU supplies 100% of IPAS air when running, regardless of engine status.  Engines only provide IPAS air when APU is off.  Either engine can supply 100% IPAS air by itself, but share 50% of the load when both are running.
Term
What is the general flow of IPAS air?
Definition

What is the general flow of IPAS air?

Source (APU/ENG) --> PRSOV --> IPAS Manifold --> IPAS users

Term
At what pressure does IPAS air leave the engines?
Definition
At what pressure does IPAS air leave the engines? Normally between 45-55 psi
Term
The engine bleed air PRSOV regulates the IPAS air from 45-55 psi down to what?
Definition
The engine bleed air PRSOV regulates the IPAS air from 45-55 psi down to what? 25 psi, +/- 3
Term

What component(s) connect the PRSOVs together?

What do they do?

Definition

What component(s) connect the PRSOVs together? Flow share sense lines

What do they do? Ensure that both engines are supplying an equal amount of bleed air

Term
At what APU speed does the APU load control valve allow IPAS air from the APU into the IPAS manifold?
Definition
At what APU speed does the APU load control valve allow IPAS air from the APU into the IPAS manifold? 95%
Term
For engine cross-bleed starts, what Ng speed must be maintained on the running engine?
Definition
For engine cross-bleed starts, what Ng speed must be maintained on the running engine? 95%
Term
What are the low pressure IPAS users?
Definition

What are the low pressure IPAS users?

ECS

ATS

Fuel system (19 psi +/-3)

Ice detector probe

NIU

Engine firewall/cooling

Utility receptacle

Canopy Defog

Term

At what pressure is IPAS air supplied to the hydraulic manifolds?

What does this prevent?

Definition

At what pressure is IPAS air supplied to the hydraulic manifolds? 31 psi +/- 3

What does this prevent? Pump cavitation and foaming
