PLOT:

Definition

 

Plot is the main events of a piece of literature. It can also have parts of plot and differ from scene to chapter.

An example of this would be:

1. Josie goes to the supermarket

2. Josie grabs her groceries and leaves down the sidewalk to her house

3. A man stops her and compliments her

4. She goes home and sets up a date

They would all be part of Josie's plot.

CHARACTER:

Definition

 

Character is the personality or dynamic of a person. Traits that make up their CHARACTER.

An example:

1. Lucian was a large buff man with a beard of gold and a heart of stone. He fought the bad men of Catlevan with his sharp sword and shield.

SETTING:

Definition

Setting is where a scene or story may take place. 

An example of this:

 

1. It was a dark night in hallowes eve. The langy tree fell toward the quiet pond. There seemed to be no sign of life despite the warty toad on the coast.

CLIMAX:

Definition

Climax is the peak of the story. Much like a rollercoaster, once it hits the top, right before it crashes down, its what's known as the climax. 

 

An example:

When Romeo kills himself in Shakespeare's play 'Romeo and Juliet'

ENDING:

Definition

Ending is the resolution of the plot. Or termination of the story. A finish to it. 

An example: 

1. And finally, they lived a happily ever after
