This is a shallow body of water that is seperated from a major body of water by a narrow beach.
This has similar sediments as a barrier island because the small strip that seperates the lagoon and deeper sea is the barrier island.

Tidal flats are made by the water that carries these sediments into one area where they gather.
The tidal flats normally contain alot of clay and silt.

A reef is a feature that is lying beneath the surface of the water. It contains alot of under sea life that depend on the reef to live.
The reef contains sediments of dead animals and plants but first it must be made of rocks that were stopped because the water was not able to push it any farther.

This was a full part of the contienet at one time but then during the glaciers it was partially torn off.
The sediments on this are made from the ersion of the contienets.

Contiental Slope and rise

These are major parts of a contienetal shelf. The slope is the sea floor below the break and the rise is the land above the break.
The sediments of this are mainly made from the ersion of the contienets and also a little bit is from the sea.
