1. Provide a stimulating environment (travel, arts, toys)
2. Minimize limits/structure
3. Encourage kids to think creatively on their own.
4. Provide reinforcement for creative action (don't say they are wrong either)

A form of creative thinking where the result could be surreal (not grounded in reality or fact), but it must be at least indirectly related to our experience. (Ex. - we have seen elephants, and have seen the color pink, therefore we can imagine pink elephants)

an imagination that produces images so vivid/real it approaches sense experiences (common in children, but the older we are the more tainted we are by experiences) - some adults still posses this after childhood, and they are usually artisits

Tale specific cases and form an overall conclusion. The error in this reasoning would result if there were too few cases to form an overall conclusion.

A general idea is applied to a specific case
(Ex. dogs bark at strangers, therefore if dog didn't bark the murderer must've been known by the dog).
Error: If overall idea is incorrect.

Thinking Gone Wrong! 3 types of irrational thinking:
Definition
Polarized thought- divide a situation into two opposite extremes where there is no middle ground.
Coincidental Thought- when we link two seperate situtations that are not connected (ex. shirt missing, think sister took it)
Delusions - false beliefs we continue to hold true even after we know they are false (Ex. - old people thinking they're still young/hip, etc.)

1. The ability of an organism to adapt to new or old situtations in environment (it's a skill!)

2. The ability to aquire and APPLY knowledge (can be smart, know lots of things but not how to USE them)

- based on pencil and paper test which generates a score (mental age)
