Antisocial Personality Disorder
Definition
Repetitive unlawful acts, socially irresponsible behaviors, pervassive disregard for others. 75% of prison population carries diagnosis. Unable to empathize with others, superficially charming and engaging, they mask a life of illegal activity, deceit, promiscuity, substance abuse, and assaultive behavior.

Borderline Personality Disorder
Definition
The most prevalent of the personality disorders in clinical setting. Central to this personality disorder is the impaired ability to form stable interpersonal relationships. Other salient features include affective instability (rapidly shift mood swings), impulsivity, identity disturbance (chronic boredom or emptiness) recurrent manipulative suicidal and parasuicidal behaviors. Histrionic Personality Disorder
Definition
EExcessive emotinality and insatible need for attention. Overly concerned with physical appearence, poor frustration tolerance (with emotinal outbursts) and speech that is impressionistic and vague.
Physical attractiveness is the core of their existence: provocative dress, flamboyant mannerisms,inappropriately seductive behavior. May be considered vain and lacking in genuiness by others.

Narcissistic Personality Disorder
Definition
Overwhelming and pathogical self-absorption. Grandiose sense of self-importance or uniqueness. Preoccupied with fantasies of success and feel that the people with whom they associate need also be special and unique.Beneath the cover of self-sufficiency and arrogance is a fragile person who is hypersensitive to issues of self esteem. Reacts with intense anger or rage when criticized in the slighest manner.

Avoidant Personality Disorder
Definition
Excessive discomfort with or fear of intimate and social relationships.Avoid social interactions as a way to protect self. Genuinely desire relationships, but struggle due to real or perceived signs of humiliation, rejection, or negative feedback. Due to pervasive awkwardness and shyness, they suffer from low self-esteem, and avoidant behaviors are difficult to modify.

Dependent Personality Disorder
Definition
Clinging and submissive behvaiorswith a strong desire for others to care for them. Preoccupied with fears of abandonment. Fear of being alone and will go to extreme lenghts to preserve any relationship, no matter how physically or emotinally abusive it may be. May volunteer for unpleasant tasks, agree with others who are wrong or look to others for assurance about simple daily decisions to ensure being liked and cared for.

Obsessive-Compulsive Personality Disorder
Definition
Perfectionist, inflexibility, and need for interpersonal control. They are also preoccupied with rules, effieciency, and trivial details, and procedures, that the purpose of the activity is lost or job is uncompleted. Inflexible adherence to their own standards, and struggle to delegate tasks to others for fear that others will not their expectations.

Dissassociative Identity Disorder
Definition
Previously known as multiple personality disorder. A fairly common effect of severe trauma during early childhood, usually extreme repetitive physical, sexual, or emotional abuse produces a lack of connection in a person's thoughts, memories, feelings, actions, or sense of identity. Wanders close to home. Depression, Insomnia, Mood swings, and suicidal tendecies.

Definition
Involves 1 or more episodes of sudden unexpected, but purposeful travel from home and cannot remember some or all of their past. Unbearable stress, resolves on its own within hours or days. Trauma such as wars, accidents, natural disaters, sexual abuse during childhood.

Schizophrenia Disorder
Definition
Severe stressor within 3 weeks. Immense amounts of fear and anxiety, out of reality. Ill for at least 6 months (at least 1 month psychotic) at least 2 of 5 symptoms: dellusions, hallucinations, disorganized speech & behavior, Negative and Positive symptoms.

Subtypes of Schizophrenia
Definition
Parinoid type- hallucinations and delusions. Do not experience negative symptoms.
Disorganized type- psychotic behavior
Risidual type-absence of prominent delusions, hallucinations, disorganized speech, grossly disorganized or catatonic behavior.
Catatonic behavior- Fear and Frozen
Undifferentiated type- do not meet criterion for other disorders.
