(small indian Ipecac)

 

constituents: Gymnemic acids, gumarin (protien that blocks taste receptors)

 

pharmacology: anti-sweet; blocks taste receptors of the mouth.

 

Medicinal Use: lower blood glucose in insulin dependent diabetics; needs to be taken continuously for 6-12 mo.

 

Dose: standardized to contain 24% gymnemic acid
