Causes: childhood trauma, sexual abuse.
Treatment: SSRI's rarely help. CBT in the favored treatment.

Definition
One or more unexplained somatization disorder.

Definition
Unexplained deficits or symptoms in one or more of the motor or sensory function.
Symptoms are inconsistent and they don't tend to even care about their "symptoms"

More common among females.
Causes: Escape from an unbearable situation, autosuggestion(hypnosis)
Treatment: Showing the patient the tests saying they are fine, contemporary cognitive-behavioral approaches.

Unclear but may be more common in female.
Causes: related to general medical conditions, influenced by the reaction one gets by being in pain.
Treatment: SSRI's, Cognitive-behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy.

Causes: Co-Occur with other axis 1 conditions, people not happy with themselves, Cognitive and learning influences.
