Advantages: colors retain brilliance and clarity, fine and detailed pigments.

Advantages = correctable, blend & create shadow, simulate textures, add tiny bits of color as night lights, thin glazes, think impasto.
Disadvantages = yellows and darkens over time, develops cracks over time.

Advantages = transparent, fresh looking colors, inexpensive.
Disadvantages = not correctable, it's on paper only.

Binder = hard surface. Vehicle = glue.
Advantages = correctable, get any type of artwork and glue it other types of artwork.
Disadvantages = legal issues regarding copyrighted material.

mosaic
Definition
two-dimensional decoration made up of minute tiles applied to a flat surface such as a wall or floor to form a picture or decorative border. The tiles might be ceramic or stone.The advantage is that it is essentially permanent and as strong as the structure it is attached to. The disadvantage is that it is permanent and as strong as the structure it is attached to.....and very labor intensive and, therefore, very expensive to execute.
