Pharmacodynamics
Definition
  1. At low doses, appears to impede clotting by blocking prostaglandin synthesis, which prevents formation of platelet-aggregating substance called thromboxane A2.
  2. Analgesic anti-inflammatory: Inhibits the synthesis of prostaglandin, preventing or reducing pain.
  3. Antipyretic: Acts on the hypothalamus to cause peripheral vasodilation which causes sweating, which then leads to heat loss and cooling by evaporation.
