-Relieves Thirst & Restlessness (for thirst & restlessness caused by heat)

-Clears Stomach Heat (for severe headaches, toothache, gingivitis caused by stomach fire)

-Cools Heat when applied externally (applied as a powder or paste externally for wounds & burns)

-Clears Heat & tonifies Yin ( for signs of False Heat due to Lung or Kidney Yin Deficiency with Sx of night sweats, low back pain, low-grade fever, bleeding gums, nocturnal emissions or abnormally high sex drive)

-Promotes urine and clears Heat in the urinary tract (treats acute UTI with Sx of burning urine, blood in the urine, dark urine & scanty urine)

-Clears Heat in the Lungs & moistens Dryness especially when there is Phlegm that is aggravating the condition (for Heat or Phlegm-Heat where the condition is injuring the Fluids of the Lungs with Sx such as thirst, dry cough or cough with blood streaked sputum)

-Brings down inflammation & reduces pus (for inflammation of any type, especially of the Lu & St and where there is pus)

Definition

-Clears Heat & calms spirit (for pathogenic Heat which causes high fever, which results in insomnia, irritability or delirium)

-Drains Damp-Heat affecting the Liver & GB (for other lower burner organs such as UB; where there are Damp-Heat Sores affecting the face, including the mouth & eyes, or difficult UTI)

-Clears Heat in the Blood & stops bleeding (for bleeding due to Heat in the Blood with symptoms of blood in the urine or stool, vomit blood, epistaxis)(for bleeding should be charred)

-Anti-Inflammatory (used externally to move blood & reduce inflammation due to an injury; for this mix with egg white & apply topically)

-Moistens the Intestines (for constipation or slow evacuvation due to dry Intestines or Liver Yin Deficiency)

-Lowers both blood pressure & serum cholesterol)(for the treatment of atherosclerosis)
